Volunteer

We are always seeking people who are willing to volunteer a few hours one Friday or Saturday each month to serve food-needy people in Wayne County.

Volunteers are needed in three areas:

• Assembling boxes — The Friday before de- livery, volunteers tape the boxes together for Saturday morning.

• Filling boxes – volunteers arrive at 7:30 a.m. to prepare the boxes to be delivered. This group is usually completing their work and cleanup about 10:00 a.m. (2.5 hours)

• Drivers/riders – arrive between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. to pick up boxes to be delivered to the homes of people on their route throughout the county. Most routes have 10-12 families on their route. This helps them to establish a relationship with the families they are serving. Drivers complete their route in one to two hours.
